Michael Weston King had not planned to record a new solo album...The English singer-songwriter, who forms the country-soul duo My Darling Clementine with his wife, Lou Dalgleish, was working on their latest album in the spring of 2024.But, during the summer of 2024, a personal tragedy turned everything upside down. Michael and Lou lost their six-year-old granddaughter, Bebe, in the Southport attacks in July of the same year. Despite their efforts to carry on and record a My Darling Clementine album, the weight of their grief overwhelmed them, and it simply felt inconceivable.Aware that grief is a personal experience for everyone - even for a married couple - Michael and Lou felt the need to express their pain through their own creativity, each in their own way, rather than collaborating. So they worked on two solo albums. Recorded partly in the Welsh countryside and partly in Sheffield, closer to the city, "Nothing Can Hurt Me Anymore" was produced by Michael, in collaboration with Colin Elliot (Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker, Self Esteem), who also handled the mixing."Nothing Can Hurt Me Anymore" does not fall into the "country" category, nor even "americana".
