Miami Funk, Soul, and Disco was dominated by TK Records, founded by Henry Stone in the early 1970s. Through a myriad of associated labels such as Alston, Blue Candle, Dash, Glades, Cat, and others, TK Records turned Gwen McRae and her brother George McRae, Betty Wright, and KC and The Sunshine Band into international artists, all during the transitional period between Soul and Disco in the mid-70s. All the artists and musicians featured on this album worked together during the heyday of TK Records, which churned out hit after hit almost daily.
