A trip back in time through the unknown compositions of METZMETZ, the famous punk band composed of three Toronto musicians, released their eponymous debut album on the Sub Pop label in 2012 and, since then, has solidified its reputation as one of the most exhilarating live bands on the planet and the most reliable purveyor of outsider rock. The band consists of Alex Edkins, Hayden Menzies, and Chris Slorach. Automat is a collection of METZ singles, B-sides, and rarities dating back to 2009, available for the first time on LP, including early recordings that have long been unavailable. All tracks on Automat have been lovingly remastered by Matthew Barnhart at Chicago Mastering Service.Automat's vinyl contains a bonus 7'' which includes three additional tracks: a cover of Sparklehorse's "Pig," taken from a very limited edition split 45 released by Sonic Boom in 2012 for Record Store Day in Toronto; "I'm a Bug," a cover of the Urinals' art-punk classic, released on YouTube (not a real record label) in 2014; and METZ's unreleased version of Gary Numan's "M.E."
