Meshell Ndegeocello returned to writing and composing during the lockdowns, thus offering her 18 original tracks to the Blue Note label for a new chapter in her creative story. An adventure that the elusive pioneer of the neo-soul movement began in 1993 with 'Plantation Lullabies' and has since constantly reinvented her music with a dozen albums and collaborations with Madonna, Basement Jaxx, Robert Glasper, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Chaka Khan, Marc Ribot and Ibeyi. This new album is a bit of me, my journeys. "I made my first record when I was 22, that was over 30 years ago, I have accumulated a lot of things that I want to share today. 'The Omnichord Real Book' is about how you can see old things in a new way," explains Meshell.
