« For the Sake of Stillness », her first solo album, is an invitation to contemplation. Most of the tracks, at the pace of a slow walk, evoke long strolls in foreign cities and the contemplative state of mind that animates them. Recorded during and between tours, « Stillness » has been built over the years as a practice of centering and self-affirmation. An ambient soundtrack, composed of natural sounds captured during these wanderings, accompanies many of the tracks, each a footprint of the place: the rhythm of footsteps on cool ground, the song of birds, the rain falling outside, an impatient car merging into traffic in the distance, the murmur of the ocean, the warmth of indistinct and intertwined conversations. These discreet recordings, intimately linked to the music, enhance this feeling of closeness. One perceives the place in the music, and the music is an open window to the sensations felt. Like an invitation to daydream, an immersion into the intimacy of a person. The music is soft, dreamy, stable, and very assured.
