Meechy Darko, one of the three members of the critically acclaimed Brooklyn hip-hop group Flatbush Zombies, has released his highly anticipated first solo album. Produced by Dot Da Genius (Kid Cudi, Jhené Aiko, Lil Nas X…), 'Gothic Luxury' was released on August 26th via Loma Vista Recordings.
Working with Dot Da Genius disrupted his usual creative process, resulting in an album that includes piano intros and laid-back funk blending with dark miniature symphonies. For Meechy, stepping out of his comfort zone to create this extremely personal debut album was the result of external forces following the murder of his father by Miami police in early 2020.
