McLusky is a band that has seen its ups and downs. Formed in the late 90s, they first broke up in 2005 after three albums (reviews of which are available online). The path to the band's reformation began in 2014, with sporadic concerts to raise funds for a local venue threatened with closure. After a few ups and downs, as life would have it, they released their first record in twenty years in 2025. Now, in 2026, they return with new material in the form of this six-track mini-album. The album's release coincides with a US tour in spring 2026, following their Australian tour in January and a series of concerts around the world the previous year. The band's return has generated significant excitement, particularly among the press. NPR exclaimed: "Progressive, strange and impertinent post-punk with remarkable humor and grandiloquence. This music is bursting with creativity!" Pitchfork, for its part, declared: "Renowned for their explosive live energy, mclusky sound just as raucous on their comeback album." The album includes four new tracks recorded in fall 2025, as well as some tracks from their 2023 digital EP.
