Time For Tyner

Description

After having cut his teeth alongside Benny Golson and Art Farmer, McCoy Tyner joined John Coltrane in 1960 to play piano in the master's various orchestras. Featured on John Coltrane's most legendary opuses, such as 'My Favorite Things' and 'A Love Supreme', he quickly established himself as one of jazz's essential musicians. On 'Time For Tyner', released in 1968, McCoy is accompanied by some heavyweights such as Bobby Hutcherson (vibraphone), Herbie Lewis (double bass) and Freddie Waits (drums). This opus is one of the many gems the illustrious pianist left behind.
