While Mazes' first album, *A Thousand Heys*, was recorded on a boat, and *Ores and Minerals* was mainly captured during several performances at the Shacklewell Arms (London) or recorded at home, *Wooden Aquarium* marks a return to the studio. It was made between Cornwall and Brooklyn in just two weeks and produced by Jonathan Schenke, known for his work with Parquet Courts.
