Voices

Description

The celebrated contemporary composer Max Richter presents *Voices* – an album of hope for a better, more humane world. In an era of impunity, where ignorance carries the same weight as knowledge, and with the rise of authoritarianism, it is easy to become discouraged about building a better world. Through the lens of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Max Richter composed this new orchestral work as a medium for reflecting on the questions facing us and finding more humane answers together. The orchestra is mainly composed of basses and cellos. The adapted text from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is narrated by American actress Kiki Layne. A prolific musician, Max Richter constantly reinvents himself but always maintains a common foundation in his compositions: the idea of evocative music; it is no coincidence that his music is used in more than thirty films and series (*Shutter Island*, *Ad Astra*, *The Leftovers*, *Waltz with Bashir*...).
