Mauricio And Horns (2 Vinyles LP - Édition Limitée Signature) / Mauricio Einhorn

Description

"Mauricio And Horns" is the brand new album by Mauricio Einhorn, the 93-year-old living legend of bossa nova. He is accompanied by the Idriss Boudrioua Orchestra, with the exceptional participation of Paquito D'Rivera on clarinet and Lula Galvão on guitar. As early as the 1950s, Mauricio made a decisive contribution to the birth of the Samba Jazz movement in Brazil, paving the way for the creation of Bossa Nova, a genre that quickly became essential in the world of jazz. The influence of jazz on Brazilian music – beautifully illustrated by Carlos Lyra in "Influência do Jazz" – was so profound that many local musicians drew inspiration from it to forge a new and bold musical identity. Recognized far beyond Brazil's borders, Mauricio Einhorn is celebrated worldwide for his exceptional mastery of the harmonica and for his prolific body of work. Many of his compositions have become true standards, performed tirelessly since the 1950s and 1960s. Few great Brazilian artists, singers or instrumentalists, have not included several of his pieces in their repertoire. For example, Leny Andrade became famous thanks to "Batida Diferente" and "Estamos Aí," the latter having served for 45 years as a brilliant finale to Paquito D'Rivera's concerts – who appears here as a special guest on this album.
