L'homme Qui Ecoutait Battre Le Cœur Des Chats

Description

A pocket musical, with cats and ghosts. This album is the O.S.T. (Original Soundtrack of the Book) for "The Man Who Listened to the Heartbeat of Cats" (Albin Michel) and its theatrical adaptation. I dreamed of a pocket musical, with cats and ghosts. It's the story of a couple who lost an unborn child. The almost-mother narrowly escaped death. She doesn't want any more children. The almost-father's desire, however, is intact. This is the central theme of the book. The cats act as comforting arbiters. So, covers that would punctuate the narrative. Echo songs, the musical stations of this story. A true laboratory for creating cinematic songs, shared with Mike (guitarist from Dionysos, for the arrangements) and singers Daria Nelson (who embodies the female cat) and Alice On the Roof, who brings the ghosts of this story to life. The entire project functions like a Russian doll. A game with the book as the mother house, the theater adaptation inside, and at its heart, the songs. But the three objects – book, album, show – remain autonomous. While experiencing all three works like developing baths, all entries are possible. One can start with the book, the show, or the album. One can also listen to this album just for the songs.
