Initially scheduled for release on 02/14 For Lullaby, Norwegian trumpeter Mathias Eick relies on the cohesion of a quartet composed of Kristjan Randalu on piano, Ole Morten Vågan on double bass and Hans Hulbækmo on drums, in a program that leverages the most adventurous qualities of his approach to improvisation. Throughout the very melodic music, a sense of abandonment unfolds, with the musicians gently floating between harmonies to generate collective dynamics within the song forms.
