Description

When Mat3r Dolorosa is asked to describe his album, only one concise and enigmatic sentence emerges: In a Noisy Blast is born a Road to Light. Sibylline, yet everything is there. The acknowledged but humble reference to Milton and his *Paradise Lost* first, in that it evokes both the path and the origin, creation. Journeys and intertwined figures: that of humanity, and its chaotic accomplishment, or of Lucifer, angel of light cast into the abyss. Who, in the end, is the true "Son of Light"? As for the "Noisy Blast," it is a creative breath as much as an elimination. To understand is to deconstruct, to eliminate pretense, deceptive, superfluous, parasitic elements, to reach the truth of a thing. This violent breath is therefore also a search, a quest for understanding, for meaning. Finding one's way through darkness, and understanding one's own path by connecting separate elements to achieve a global vision. A theme dear to the artist - an architect in civilian life - the relief (of the music as well as the cover) takes on its full meaning here: the peaks are as important as the troughs, just as light only forms a complete design with the shadows it generates. Mat3r Dolorosa enjoys these back-and-forths and these fragile margins that easily make us tip over, or only grasp a part of a whole. Thus, his melodies, undergoing infinite variations of sounds, textures, rhythms, metamorphose, imposing completely different sentiments and apprehensions of the whole.
