Back To The Music (1977)

Description

Born in the midst of the rock explosion of the 1970s, Mass was formed in 1973 under the impetus of Günther V. Radny, Josef Hartl, Walter Speck, and Charles Frey. But like any great rock story, their journey was fraught with obstacles. After Speck's departure, Gerd Schneider joined the group, but very quickly, personal problems related to drugs threatened their future. It was then that Mick Thackeray took up the guitar and Johannes Eder settled behind the drums, infusing new energy into the band. In April 1975, Mass entered a studio in Munich to record an album. But fate had other plans: Hartl sank into addiction, the album never saw the light of day, and the tapes disappeared, becoming a true rock legend. Eventually, Hartl and Thackeray left the group, consumed by their demons. But Mass refused to disappear. With the arrival of singer Detlef "Dave" Schreiber, the band came back stronger than ever, proving their rage, resilience, and unwavering passion for hard rock. Recently, Golden Core/ZYX paid tribute to Mass by including tracks from Mass and Monsters on the compilation "Sound & Action - German Hardrock & Heavy Metal Rarities Vol. 1". This recognition revived a long-awaited idea: the very first CD pressing and vinyl reissue of Mass's cult album. This exclusive pack is now available and constitutes a true treasure for collectors and hard rock fans. Mass never played it safe. They lived, burned, and survived—true to the very essence of rock 'n' roll.
