Mass Gothic enchants us with a new album that blends indie rock and electronic sounds. When Mass Gothic started in 2016, it was Noel Heroux's solo project, but he has since been joined by his wife. Heroux pushed himself out of his comfort zone to create a record with new sounds. The album was written by Heroux and Zambri while they were on the road. This album is definitely rock, but it also features electronic sounds where the couple's voices intertwine. The album was finally recorded in Brooklyn with Rick Kwan, and Chris Coady mixed the record, while Heba Kadry mastered it. The final product evokes the frenetic energy of Animal Collective and the celestial torch of Bat for Lashes, revealing a remarkable sonic palette. It begins with a place of unsettling uncertainty and concludes with the idea that you can be independent of each other and still succeed in a relationship.
