When Jerry Fuchs joined Maserati in 2004, he initiated a complete overhaul of the group: old songs were dropped, tempos were significantly accelerated, and the burgeoning psyche-rock impulses of guitarists Coley Dennis and Matt Cherry were allowed to grow. Maserati had become better, faster, and stronger. In 2012, this spirit shines on Maserati VII, their first album conceived since Jerry's passing. Maserati has this strange ability to be able to shift time between past, present, and future - often within a single song. On Maserati VII, they are both stabilized and driven by new drummer Mike Albanese (Cinemechanica), whose dexterity and endurance lend themselves perfectly to Maserati's relentless, driving rhythms and epic song lengths. This reissue celebrates Maserati's 20th anniversary.
