"Paysages du Ciel" is both a culmination and a new beginning. A culmination because it presents Jean-Paul Prat's music as never before, with a dream "setup": 49 musicians (piano, bass, drums, marimba, xylophone, 2 saxophones, 2 guitars, violin, 6 brass instruments, and a string orchestra – 33 musicians). What one could only imagine in the two quintet albums is here made real. This opus reconnects with the "grandeur" of the first "Jean-Paul Prat – Masal" from 1982 and goes even further, particularly thanks to the strings. Extremely colorful, powerful, and gentle music that leads us on a journey through our inner depths. A culmination also because the precision of the musical writing is a work of art: interwoven melodies and rhythms serving a bold harmony with measured dissonances.
