While listeners may hear echoes of loop-based psychedelia from Panda Bear's Person Pitch or the incantatory wails of Pocahaunted in these enchanting soundscapes and magic-laden mantras, the truth is that the aesthetic of this album belongs solely to Marlene. "It's a great misty fog of nostalgia, mischief, self-reflection, and hope," Marlene herself believes.
