Houston: Publishing Demos 2002

Description

Mark Lanegan first rose to fame in the 90s with his band The Screaming Trees. Like other influential artists, he forged his own artistic identity as a singer and songwriter. Shaped by the blues, he nevertheless shows a real desire to transpose his poetic sensibility from hard rock to electro. The recording of the tracks for Houston (Publishing Demos 2002) dates back to the time when The Screaming Trees had just broken up and Lanegan was starting a solo career. These tracks were therefore put aside until today with the release, on the Ipecac label, of a collection of 12 tracks from old recordings.
