MARK LANEGAN, the Seattle-born singer with multiple projects including Queens Of The Stone Age, presents his new solo album, Gargoyle, on Heavenly. MARK LANEGAN is known for his dozens of collaborations with highly reputed artists, such as Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley (within Mad Season), Screaming Trees, Gutter Twins, and also Mad Season, but he is also known for his prolific solo artistic career. Shaped by the blues, he nevertheless displays a real desire to transpose his poetic sensibility from hard rock to electronic music. Rob Marshall, an English musician known through Soulsavers, with whom Mark sang at the time, co-wrote six songs. Rob's music perfectly matched the direction Mark wanted for his new album: a more expansive progression of Krautrock-influenced electro-acoustic textures from his two previous albums, Blues Funeral and Phantom Radio. Accustomed to taking his time to prepare an album, MARK LANEGAN this time wrote, recorded and produced the rest of the album in one month, accompanied by his long-time producer Alain Johannes. This album features his favorite collaborators: Josh Homme, with whom he played in Queens Of The Stone Age, Greg Dulli, his partner in Gutter Twins, and Duke Garwood, with whom he recorded an album in 2013, Black Pudding. At 52 and with Gargoyle, MARK LANEGAN further strengthens his place among the most influential rock artists of his generation.
