{"product_id":"marinero_la-la-la_2025_mdl","title":"La La La","description":"Marinero, the Los Angeles group led by Jess Sylvester, is releasing their new album, La La La, on Hardly Art Records. Named for both the city that helped shape it and the sophisticated pop contained within, La La La is lush. The album was recorded and co-produced by Jess Sylvester and Jason Kick, with contributions from Eduardo Arenas of Chicano Batman, Chris Cohen, and Shana Cleveland (La Luz). Jess, born to Mexican and Irish-American parents in San Francisco, has at times bumped up against preconceived notions of his sound and style. On La La La, he simultaneously embraces and exits those preconceived notions, singing salsa numbers in joyful Spanish or reflecting on the dynamics of the Hollywood Ten and blacklists over a mysterious lap steel and come-hither trumpet. His identity should be clear now: he’s a Californian, making music shaped by the diverse encounters and experiences that are an essential part of the fabric of that state. Of course, La La La is a continuation of the slippery genre play Jess began with Hella Love (2021) and Trópico de Cáncer (2019). But it is also a new beginning for Marinero, as Jess realizes how boundless this project can be. In Los Angeles, he found a host of musicians who spoke this music as a language in its own right, all willing to play with these familiar forms and push them further.","brand":"Marinero","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55312096723288,"sku":null,"price":20250221.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0098787317503_95331fc9-95c1-4fbd-accf-2610c754e590.jpg?v=1760320357","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/marinero_la-la-la_2025_mdl","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
