Deluxe 4CD+Blu-ray reissue of Marillion's first studio album, originally released in 1983. Included on CD1 is the new stereo mix of the album by Andy Bradfield and Avril Mackintosh, and on CD2 the EP 'Market Square Heroes', including a new stereo mix of the B-side “Charting The Single”. CDs 3 and 4 feature an unreleased concert recorded at the Marquee Club in London on December 29, 1982 (including the tracks “He Knows You Know,” “The Web,” “Garden Party,” “Chelsea Monday,” “Forgotten Sons”, “Script for a Jester’s Tear”,“Three Boats Down From The Candy”,“Grendel”, “Margaret”). The Blu-ray contains new stereo mixes in 96k/24-bit, a new 5.1 Surround mix of the album ‘Script for a Jester’s Tear’ and the documentary “Sackcloth and Greasepaint” which discusses this foundational period from 1979 to 1983 through interviews with the band.
Originally produced by Nick Tauber, ‘Script for a Jester’s Tear’ is the only album by Marillion featuring Fish, Steve Rothery, Pete Trewavas, Mark Kelly, and Mick Pointer.
