Georges Moustaki would surely echo these words today, which he wrote about one of Maria Teresa's albums. Moustaki once met Teresa in Paris. He then often invited her to share the stage (including at the Olympia) and to perform several songs in duet, such as Le facteur, Portugal, or L'inconsolable. The musicians accompanying Maria Teresa on this new record - Toninho do Carmo, Marc Bertaux, Francis Jauvain, and Luiz-Augusto Cavani - all played with Moustaki, who was both a friend and collaborator to them during the last twenty years of his career around the world. They have now come together once again in the studio to accompany Maria Teresa and record this new album - Pour un ami - (the sixth in the singer's career). The friend is obviously Georges Moustaki. Who better than these artists could interpret this repertoire with Maria Teresa, which they know inside out, by heart? This album will feature not only several of Georges Moustaki's greatest hits but also songs he adapted into French, drawing from the repertoires of his Brazilian friends and colleagues to introduce them to us.
