Sonates pour violon
Description
Luigi Ludovico Madonis (1695-1777) was a student of Antonio Vivaldi and was considered around 1720 as one of the most brilliant and artistic violinists in Venice. Johann Joachim Quantz praises him in his travel diary (1724-1727). In 1733, Madonis arrived in Saint Petersburg, where he became a member of the court chapel. Madonis was highly regarded at the Russian court both as a violinist and as a composer. In 1738, he published a collection of 12 sonatas for violin, which he dedicated to the Russian tsarina. The present recording contains six sonatas from this collection. Madonis cultivates an individual style, which integrates Russian elements and simultaneously draws inspiration from the Italian style, particularly Vivaldi.Buy Sonates pour violon at the best price
