This is the second part of remixes of the hypnotic folk music by the Ainu a cappella group Marewrew. 'Ukouk Remixes Pt. 02' is dedicated to dub remixes, featuring Elijah Minnelli and Peter Presto on a 7-inch single. The digital version is supplemented with remixes by CloudManagement, Contact Field Orchestra, and Andi Otto. Elijah Minnelli is a London-based dub music producer. He specializes in fusing folk and dub. His remix of Marewrew's 'Uekap' is a deep and breathable take on the enchanting round chant, live-dubbed through his mixing desk. Chopped vocals are used as percussive instruments. Pingipung founder Peter Presto remixes the same track 'Uekap' and paints it yellow with his own inimitable dubby mischief. His heartwarming B-side takes us back to Mr. Presto's very first Pingipung album released in 2002. The vocals are joyful, the groove is stumbling and slow, and the flute melody is a perfect antidote to stress.
