Description

Marc Mélia is a musician and composer born in Mallorca who now lives in Brussels. Over the past ten years, he has composed, produced, and performed music with numerous bands, including the Brussels pop trio Lonely Drifter Karen, who released 3 albums on the Belgian label Crammed Discs. He is currently the keyboardist for the bands Françoiz Breut, Borja Flames, and Le Ton Mité. On his first solo album, Music For Prophet, Marc Mélia focuses on creating rhythm-less electronic soundscapes, featuring complex arpeggiated sequences and post-Kraftwerk melodies, using only the iconic Prophet 08 synthesizer, as well as his voice, filtered through a vocoder and a limited palette of effects. "Marc Mélia attempts to naturalize what is synthetic, to humanize what is robotic, to seek the beauty of music through cold and emotionless sounds."
