His 24 preludes, which follow the same key cycle as those of Chopin and Scriabin, date from 1945 — before the composer, then aged 15, had traveled to Europe.The works incorporate a wide variety of moods and styles, the young composer exploring various harmonic and rhythmic devices with flair.
