Brazilian Dorian Dream
Description
Due to the independent nature and limited pressing of the original release, Brazilian Dorian Dream has remained nearly impossible to find on vinyl to this day. Far Out Recordings is proud to make this masterpiece available to new audiences with a remastered vinyl, CD, and digital reissue in 2020. Blind from birth, Brazilian keyboardist, composer, and bandleader Manfredo Fest learned to read music in braille and began studying classical music at a very young age. At 17, he fell in love with jazz (particularly the music of fellow blind pianist George Shearing) before being drawn into the emerging bossa nova movement in Rio in the 1960s. In 1967, he left for the United States, where he worked with his compatriot Sergio Mendes. In 1976, Fest recorded and released Brazilian Dorian Dream, with Thomas Kini (bass), Alejo Poveda (drums, percussion), and Roberta Davis (vocals).Buy Brazilian Dorian Dream at the best price
