Malevil is a synthwave-prog-electronic band formed in Lyon in 2017. Originally a rock trio, after two EPs and an album, they became a duo in 2022. This was quickly followed by a new EP, Vol.3, setting the stage for the new Malevil: gone are the guitar/bass/drums, replaced by two long, ambient, improvised tracks on modular synth and Moog. The machines have won. The duo presents their second album Tue l’amour, the music for a non-existent film, where synthetic percussion and distorted drones blend with sensitive keyboards and acoustic instruments for this faux soundtrack that addresses grief.
