After a first album, "Impersonator", as minimalist as could be, dramatically beautiful and acclaimed by the press, the Canadian band is back with the equally sumptuous "Are You Alone?". After touring with Lorde, Devon Welsh and Matthew Otto are back, to our great delight, with this second opus recorded under the same conditions as the previous one, in order to remain focused on the emotional energy of the songs. We should note, however, the presence of Owen Pallet (Beirut, Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projector) who came to lend a hand. The tracks here have lost none of their brilliance, they even gain in intensity, a few seconds are enough to fall under the spell of Devon's hypnotic voice. The Montreal duo proves once again that they have the know-how to compose tracks of pure melancholy, immense and fragile at the same time.
