Mahan Esfahani is a young harpsichord prodigy born in Tehran. He grew up in Washington and now resides in London. He is now one of the best harpsichordists in the world, but also one of the youngest; he is only thirty years old. He presents here a new interpretation of one of the greatest masterpieces of the baroque repertoire: Bach's Goldberg Variations. He brings a fresh perspective to them and presents them in a unique way. The composer indeed holds a very special importance for the musician. His compositions allow him to express himself fully and to revisit them as he wishes: "The gift that Bach gives us, however, comes at an important price: namely, that each generation reacts to his music in its own way."
