Description

"e.s.t. 30" celebrates 30 years of the iconic jazz group with a captivating musical experience! In 1993, three Swedish musicians, Esbjorn Svensson, Dan Berglund, and Magnus Östrom, formed the group e.s.t. None of them could have predicted that e.s.t. would become the most influential European jazz group of the 2000s. And when the group formed, they probably didn't think they were particularly "jazz" either; all they wanted was to play the music that united their passions: rock, pop, classical, folk, improvisation. Over the next 15 years, e.s.t. performed thousands of concerts, released ten studio albums, and won numerous awards. To mark e.s.t.'s 30th anniversary, Magnus Östrom and Dan Berglund combined forces with close musician friends, Joel Lyssarides, Magnus Lindgren, Verneri Pohjola, and Ulf Wakenius, to perform two major concerts, one at the Cologne Philharmonie and the other at the Filadelfia Church in Stockholm. They played a selection of iconic e.s.t. tracks in a completely new way. The six musicians tenderly and originally reinterpreted the original melodies and rhythms, captivating the audience with their on-stage interaction. "e.s.t. 30" offered a musical experience ranging from panoramic grandeur to intimacy, from the spatial silence of the opening track "From Gagarin's Point Of View" to the heartfelt depth of "Believe, Beleft, Below." The love endures.
