After a long pause, Madredeus finally brings its answer to the puzzle that strikes every group that has reached the peak of its career. How to last without repeating oneself and, at the same time, open new windows to the future? Once again, the group's compositional efforts have converged towards the singer, Teresa Salgueiro. A bit tired of the austere image she conveyed, she requested a bit more lightness. A wish granted on this occasion. The cheerful A Vida Boa and Graça with its folk sound were designed with the intention that she could dance on stage. Nevertheless, Madredeus continues to evolve most often in a majestic and austere register.
Teresa, still as moving as ever, was put to the test on the lyrical Vozes No Mar and A Lira, an intense slow piece on which she hardly has time to breathe.
Big surprises: Anseio, the opening track, brings the group onto almost electric ground while Tarde, por favor… reveals a Teresa that is more human than ever.
