Sept years after her breakthrough album, Careless Love, which sold over two million copies worldwide, and two years after her last Bareless Bones, Madeleine Peyroux is preparing to release her new album "Standing on the Rooftop". Produced by Craig Street (Norah Jones, Cassandra Wilson), this fifth studio album sees Madeleine Peyroux stepping a bit away from her usual style. With features from Marc Ribot (guitar), Me'Shell Ndegeocello (bass), and Allen Toussaint (piano), alongside studio regulars like drummer Charley Drayton (Neil Young, Johnny Cash) and guitarist Chris Bruce (Seal, John Legend), this new opus indeed proves to be more rootsy than usual. The majority of the repertoire was composed by Peyroux, with the exception of a few covers (Bob Dylan "Threw It All Away", Robert Johnson "Love in Vain", and The Beatles "Martha, My Dear").
