Keep me in your heart for a while: the best of Madeleine Peyroux
Description
First compilation tracing the 18 years of the singer-songwriter's career, including her most well-known tracks released on the Rounder label but also those present at Atlantic and Decca/Emarcy. In addition, this double album includes an unreleased track - a cover of Warren Zevon's Keep Me in Your Heart, which appeared in the 2011 independent film Union Square, as well as an extended version of Desperadoes Under the Eaves which only appeared on the limited deluxe edition of The BlueRoom. Notes from former Atlantic Records art director Yves Beauvais complete the set. Madeleine Peyroux, whose voice is often compared to that of Billie Holiday, was discovered at just twenty years old when Yves Beauvais noticed her in a New York club. He signed her to Atlantic Records and co-produced her first album Dreamland in 1996. Madeleine Peyroux's smoky voice has enchanted audiences and critics, but it was her second album Careless Love released in 2004 that marked an important milestone for the artist, gaining recognition from the general public, followed by the beginning of a four-album collaboration with producer Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Herbie Hancock).
