"A NECESSARY ESCAPE" – M83'S NEW ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK FOR THE FEATURE FILM DAKAR: RACE AGAINST THE DESERT M83 scores the soundtrack for the film DAKAR: RACE AGAINST THE DESERT with the album "A NECESSARY ESCAPE," available digitally on May 9th, followed by a physical release on June 27th. The album will be available on CD, standard vinyl, and a limited edition colored vinyl. This is the fourth soundtrack composed by M83, recorded between France and the United States by ANTHONY GONZALEZ, the project's leader, accompanied by his regular collaborators JOE BERRY and CLÉMENT LIBES. The film DAKAR: RACE AGAINST THE DESERT, distributed digitally by Universal Pictures, will be released on May 12th, before a world premiere in cinemas on June 26th at MK2 Bibliothèque in Paris. Directed by JALIL LESPERT, a French actor and filmmaker, the film delves into the heart of the legendary Dakar Rally, a mythical race that for 45 years has represented the ultimate challenge of endurance and performance in the world of motorsports. Over a 9,000-kilometer course, drivers face 14 days of extreme trials across unforgiving desert landscapes. Thanks to unprecedented behind-the-scenes access, the film follows iconic figures such as SÉBASTIEN LOEB, reigning champion NASSER AL-ATTIYAH, as well as pioneers CARLOS SAINZ and STÉPHANE PETERHANSEL. It also highlights the new generation with emerging talents like MASON KLEIN.
