With Tender / Wading, M. Sage continues his quest for radical gentleness and sonic naturalism. After a detour of nearly a decade in Chicago, the artist returns to the mountains of Colorado, where he composes and records this new album in his family studio — a renovated former agricultural shed. Built primarily around piano and clarinet, then enriched with guitar, percussion, modular synths, and field recordings captured around his home, the album offers a cosmic folk ambient, steeped in the dry air of the American West and a sense of returning to oneself. Published by RVNG Intl. after Paradise Crick (2023), Tender / Wading reveals a more melodic and autobiographical facet of Sage.
