Anna Geniushene and Lukas Geniusas are each enjoying brilliant solo careers; she received the silver medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2022 and now records for Fuga Libera, while he signed a Rachmaninoff recording (ALPHA997) that was praised by the press and the public... United on stage and in life, they form a highly virtuosic and tightly knit duo. They have conceived this very varied program that pays homage to American music, with compositions by Gershwin, Stravinsky, Copland, McPhee, a succession of melting pots blending classical, jazz, Mexican music, Balinese rhythms... The spectacular and rebellious Fourth Ballade from the North American Ballads by Frederic Rzewski (1938-2021) completes this odyssey, which concludes with the magnificent Hallelujah Junction, a vast fresco composed by John Adams in 1996.
