Initially scheduled for release on 20/11 - Vinyl support only Lujipeka is a 24-year-old rapper from Rennes, a member of Columbine, whose solo debut was marked by the release of his first EP, L.U.J.I., last May. He returns with a new EP, 'Bordel'. Columbine is an independent collective that has, in recent years, contributed one of the most unique stories in French rap (2 platinum records, millions of streams, hundreds of thousands of spectators). Their albums have always been a clever blend of tracks by Lujipeka and Foda C that oozed freedom, prepared for escape, and heralded what was to come. Lujipeka still asserts this freedom of tone and action, whether by designing his own logo or by producing and directing his tracks. L.U.J.I. confirmed it: if Lujipeka is indeed a passionate rapper, he exists in a musical elsewhere where singing and rapping are two sides of the same coin. Daho like Damso, indie rock like underground rap, comfortable on the big beat of 'Meme' as much as on the warped waltz of the splendid 'Contaminé', Lujipeka effortlessly melts genre and register barriers. 'Ahou', the first track released under his name, foreshadowed this direction through its melancholic and hypnotic singing, giving the persona new depth.
