Originally released in 1995, to mark the sad fiftieth anniversary of the bombing of HIROSHIMA, this mini album retraces one of the darkest episodes in human history, catapulting the world into an endless nuclear escalation. Six songs chronologically expose the event - from the conception of the "Manhattan" bomb to the martyrdom of the thousands of irradiated survivors, "Hibakusha" - LUDWIG VON 88 delivers a musical film, where each track is a chapter of this tragedy. Accompanied by a thick booklet consisting of testimonies from the protagonists and documents as terrifying as they are poignant (from the cold resolution of the military to the horror and despair that fell upon victims and survivors). Unfortunately for us, more than 70 years after this tragedy, all fears related to nuclear issues, both military and civilian, remain more relevant than ever. Founded in 1983, LUDWIG VON 88 is one of the most active bands in alternative rock. Aware of the realities of their time, their lyrics and music reflect the impertinence of terrible children, often sprinkled with derision. After hundreds of concerts and about twenty albums, the band emptied one last can on stage in 2000, before making a thunderous comeback for a few apocalyptic concerts in 2016 and 2017. Only the Grand Trash knows what they have in store for the future!
