Lettre à Elise - Disque officiel de La Folle Journée 2005
Description
The pieces presented here are mostly young, dating from his early days in Vienna. These series of variations have always been a safe bet for the audience, contributing to his success. They allow the artist to shine, and the composer to showcase his inventiveness and imagination. Later on, deafness ultimately isolated Beethoven from the world, gradually making him, in the eyes of Vienna at the time, a sort of "Prometheus Bound." Yet, despite this insurmountable obstacle, he did not give up on the miniature, as seen, for example, in the universally known bagatelle "Für Elise."
