Ludovico Einaudi returns with a brand new album titled 'The Summer Portraits'.
Last summer, Einaudi rented a house on the island of Elba, Italy. There, he discovered beautiful oil paintings on wood. They depicted views of the house and seemed very personal. Upon inquiring, he learned that they had been painted over time by a woman who owned the house in the 1950s and spent her summers there.
This prompted him to recall the summers of his childhood, filled with freedom and sensory experiences, which contrasted with his return to his industrial hometown of Turin. He realized that these summer memories are an experience shared by many people.
