For his eighth album, Lucas Santtana returns to the simplicity of guitar and voice, in the spirit of his Tropicalist peers (Gilberto Gil, Tom Zé, or Caetano Veloso). In an era where everyone shouts loudly and no one wants to listen to each other, he chooses to whisper into people's ears. He seeks the intersections between the intimate and the political and social situation, which has deteriorated significantly in Brazil since the election of far-right populist president Jair Bolsonaro. Surrounded by a creative young guard (Jaloo, Linn da Quebrada, DUDA BEAT) and Juçara Marçal (Meta Meta), he offers a peaceful album in the face of profound societal disruptions and retrograde ideas. He delivers a free, airy, poetic record, because "even if times are dark, they will pass, because everything is cyclical. Hence the name of the album: 'the sky has been old for a long time'."
