"Christmas" offers a selection of carols, including four original compositions by the band, primarily recorded at Low's 20§ Below studio in Duluth, Minnesota. "If You Were Born Today" and "Blue Christmas" were released as 45 RPM singles on the English label Wurlitzer Jukebox in 1997, while "Taking Down The Tree" is taken from a 1998 compilation of live recordings, released by Dutch radio station VPRO.
