John Grant Delivers an Electronic Ode to Love. Throughout the tracks, Grant embraces electronic music in various forms, completing the transition he began on his first solo projects. *Love Is Magic* was produced by Grant alongside analog synth expert Benge, as well as Paul Alexander and the band Midlake. The tracks were initially recorded at Benge's English studio, MemeTune Studios. The result is a brutal, turbulent, and captivating collection of tracks. While the instrumentals are almost exclusively composed of synthesizers, Grant explains that the lyrics capture everyday life, from desires to pain, moments situated between his past, his present, and his anxieties about the future.
