SWEET F.A

Description

Beggars Arkive continues its series of reissues from the discography of British band Love and Rockets (formed by ex-members of Bauhaus). Released in 1996, 'Sweet F.A.' was produced by Rick Rubin (Run-D.M.C., The Cult, Red Hot Chili Peppers). The recording of this album is marked by their studio catching fire, destroying equipment and the demos the trio was working on. This incident is referenced on the album cover, which features a burned guitar and debris. 'Sweet F.A.' marks Love and Rockets' return to some of their early influences (The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, Can), notably through the resurgence of guitar at the center of their compositions. Between melancholic pulsations, hypnotic rhythms, and airy electronic elements, the album tells stories of loss, heartbreak, and passion.
