Loose Fit began when fashion school friends Kaylene Milner and Anna Langdon bonded over their mutual love for experimental music. After a few lo-fi bedroom recordings, they recruited Max Edgar on guitar and Richard Martin on bass and started making some noise. With Kaylene behind the drum kit and Anna on saxophone and vocals, Loose Fit's unique and impactful sound began to take shape. The band's rhythmic sound is reminiscent of British post-punk titans such as Public Image Ltd, Maximum Joy, and A Certain Ratio. They are also fans of the American No Wave scene, particularly James Chance's guitar work and the pop exuberance of Bush Tetras. Finally, influences from Talking Heads and B-52s can also be found. The Sydney-based band's self-titled debut EP offers a glimpse into their groove-driven post-punk signature. Guided by a DIY ethic, the band recorded their EP in one weekend, with the help of their friend and musician/producer/engineer Jonathan Boulet.
