Having made a name for himself as the leader of The Commotions and then through his solo career, Lloyd Cole has established himself among the best singer-songwriters of the post-punk movement, thanks to his style that is both elaborate and incisive. Crossing several currents, from minimalism to folk-rock inspiration to electronic music, Lloyd Cole has always managed to retain his genius. The 13th solo album by the artist, this new opus titled 'On Pain' is mainly marked by electro sounds on which we find his original voice and sophisticated lyricism. Across 8 tracks, Lloyd Cole invites us into the mind of a man reconciling with his old age, sometimes giving us the impression of sitting in a state-of-the-art train station, uncertain of our destination. In continuity with his last album, 'Guesswork' from 2019, acclaimed by critics, the musical style of 'On Pain' is mainly composed of electronic sounds. All the songs were written by Lloyd Cole - half of them in collaboration with Neil Clark and Blair Cowan, the original members of The Commotions.
