The most beautiful moments of romantic music for viola served by two outstanding performers: Lise Berthaud and Adam Laloum. Lise Berthaud chose to record for this first recital disc, three monuments of the romantic literature alongside Adam Laloum. These two musicians, after having crossed paths several times, dreamed of recording together some masterpieces that they regularly take to stages around the world. From this meeting, in July, in Paris, was born a unique moment of magic, poetry, and complicity of which this recording is the witness. Romantic composers have reserved a special place for the viola to which they have addressed their most intimate confessions. The three works that make up this program carry within them the soul of romantic music. Passionate about poetry, Schumann evokes the world of fairy tales in the Märchenbilder that opens this program. The genius of Schubert then sings in the more than famous Arpeggione. Finally, Brahms' sonata (the second), his ultimate chamber music work concludes this timeless recital.
